Asad Sultan

Asad is our business executive. He started his career in 1990 with Citibank in New York, then Tokyo and London. In Hong Kong, he was the Asia-wide representative for financial information group Primark. In the aftermath of the Asian financial crisis, he was the architect of Macquarie Bank’s successful regional equity sales and trading business from Hong Kong, serving as Head of Asian Equities. Following that, Asad served as CEO for the Asian subsidiary of US brokerage firm ITG Securities, again from Hong Kong.


Next, Asad joined as a partner/director with AIAK Capital in Kuala Lumpur. AIAK is the investment holding company under which the Arab Malaysian Development Bank, now the third largest bank in Malaysia, was founded. Asad was the managing director of AIAK’s corporate advisory team for the Indian Sub-Continent, and was responsible for the group’s successful entry into the telecom, media & entertainment (TME) sector. 


He is on the advisory committee for Cinema Capital India, a film fund set up to finance Asian based projects.
